Translation According to Seres
Translation projects are structured around several basic parameters:
  • one or several source languages and one or several target languages,

  • one or several technical or business fields,

  • a number of source document formats (paper, ASCII, MS-Word, Adobe PDF, QuarkXPress, etc.), that the translation process is generally required to respect,

  • more often than not, editorial requirements (e.g., ensure consistency of terminology either with previous translations or with an existing glossary, etc.),

  • deadlines that may be tight and a schedule that may be complex (e.g., translation may have to be synchronized with a development schedule or market release date, that may be essentially unmodifiable).
Languages:

We can work in any languages which are written in scripts included in the Unicode Standard. Unicode is an internationally recognized standard for electronic character encoding, and encompasses all of the European alphabetic scripts and Middle Eastern right-to-left scripts, as well as many Asian scripts (including the scripts used for writing Chinese, Japanese, Korean and all Indic languages).
Fields:

Our teams regularly conduct projects in fields as diverse as information technology, the automotive industry, financial reports, legal documents, the medical field, etc.
Formats:

We have longstanding expertise in a wide range of formats:
  • Office – MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), PDF, OpenOffice
  • DTP – QuarkXpress, InDesign, FrameMaker, PageMaker, Ventura Publisher, Microsoft Publisher
  • Graphics – Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDRAW
  • Localization – .Net, HTML, XML, .CHM, PHP, MySQL, Flash
  • Platforms – Windows, Mac, Unix
  • CAT (Computer Aided Translation) – TRADOS, Déjà Vu, SDLX, Transit
In case you require us to process a file format for which new methods must be developed, we will work closely with you to devise a specific strategy and working protocol which will allow us to meet your objectives.
Editorial requirements:

Seres derives its strength and flexibility from its service philosophy focused on the systematic enforcement of a high quality standard.
The rigorous approach we have developed to meet this standard naturally allows for integration of specific editorial requirements, while enabling us to remain attentive to your needs and take into account all important parameters affecting your projects.
Deadlines:

Depending on your needs and objectives, we will work out a specific strategy which will ensure delivery of your translations within the suitable deadlines.
For projects with particular urgency, our editorial management approach allows us to be especially flexible, hence responsive, through an appropriate allotment of resources.
